Here are a couple things to consider as you pre-order your new RV:
Budget
Decide beforehand how much you want to spend. Look around at RVs similar to what you want and get an idea of the price range. This will help you find an RV that matches your camping needs and your budget.
Type of RV
Do you want a travel trailer, motorhome, toy hauler, or fifth wheel? Look through different models and makes, taking into consideration the different features of each unit and what would work best for you. If you are getting a travel trailer or fifth wheel, make sure to check the towing capacity of your vehicle ahead of time using our tow guide.
Sleeping Capacity
As you are looking at different RVs and deciding what you want, make sure to count how many your RV needs to sleep. Think about how many family members and friends you may potentially have with you as you travel when you look at different floor plans.
Desired Features
Think about what features you would like your RV to have. Some different features to consider include bunks, dual entry, a fireplace, free-standing table and chairs, Murphy bed, outdoor entertainment, outdoor kitchen, pass-thru storage, theater seating, and so much more. Think about how you plan to use your unit. If it’s just you and your significant other, you likely don’t need to worry about finding a unit with bunks but, if the grandkids will be joining you, you’ll want them to have their own space.
Other Considerations
After you decide your budget, what type of RV you want, and what floor plan you are looking for, think through any other features you may want. Consider all of the places you’ll be traveling, what you’ll be using it for, and research the best brands and models for those purposes.
